The Couple is a piece that relates to my work “The Herd”. These stylized animal heads are carved like masks in stone. The surface of the light coloured stone is very reminiscent of animal fur. Its visceral quality relates to our senses and wants to be touched. I use these heads / masks as metaphors for the human soul. These are a reflection on a couple in love. Through a gesture in the pairing, they become animated and we relate to them as the other in us.

La Coppia  è un lavoro che si riferisce al mio lavoro “The Herd”. Queste teste di animali stilizzate sono scolpite come maschere in marmo. La superficie del marmo chiaro ricorda molto la pelliccia degli animali. La sua qualità viscerale si riferisce ai nostri sensi e vuole essere toccata. Utilizzo queste teste/maschere come metafore dell'anima umana. Questa scultura e una riflessione su una coppia innamorata. Attraverso un gesto della posizione, si animano e noi ci mettiamo in relazione con loro come l'altro in noi.
